Do parents over-control their child nowadays?
It is natural for parents to control their children, since the parents don't want their children harming themselves. However, are the parents controlling their children too much nowadays? Or are they just trying to protect their children? In my opinion, parents are just being too protective of their children hence leading to them being overly-control of their children.
Firstly, parents could just be too protective of their child fearing that they would come to any harm hence they tends to over-control. Many reasons behind over-controlling parents are because they are afraid that their child will be harmed. They might just feel worried that their child will fall into bad company hence ruining their future thus parents feels a need to control their child. However, being over-protective of their children, many parents appear to be overly-controlling their children.
Secondly, I feel that some parents are just being over-protective of their children. However, caring too much for their children would cause them to very much dependent on their parents for everything. For example, sending their children home straight after school, restricting them from going to CCAs, school or class gatherings, outings... these parents are just being too ridiculous or rather, this is what they call over-'protective'. These parents might be trying to protect their children from harm thus becoming over-controlling unknownly. At the same time, they deprived their children from learning from the outside world.
In other words, parents over-control their children nowadays due to how much they try to protect them. Being children, we should understand that our parents are controlling us because they care. However, parents should not be too protective and over-control their children. Only parents that wants to protect their children tends to over-control.
