Journal 3 [Term 1. Week 4]

What do you aspire for? It's a new year so many "grown ups" will start to ask this question. Many would say in stentorian tones, "I want to (whatever they aspire),". However, for me, there is not really anything that i aspire. Well, I definitely will not aspire anything that are singular like being a Philadelphia lawyer. However, you can never answer adults by "I don't know" so, there is always a stereotype answer. "I aspire to achieve great results academically and to go to a good Junior College."

Journal 2 [Term 1. Week 3]

"I lost my wallet." I said calmly to Lynette. She raised her eyebrows and gave me an incredulous look. Lets recall what happen yesterday on the way home...
It was already 2030hr when we left school. It was our ultimate aim to get home as fast as possible then. However, our Band Conductor kindly offered us a ride home. Suddenly, I surmised that the wallet could have dropped out when I went out of the car to change to the front seat. I repressed the urge to scream out in dismay. "How can be more unfortunate then me?" I thought.
"There is no incontrovertible evidence that your wallet dropped there though. There is still a possibility that your wallet has dropped in Mr Wong's car. Lets go ask him later..." Lynette suggested.
"I really have to pick a propitious moment to ask him.." I said.

OCTOPUS
Did you know that the first writing ink is made with a pigment found in the octopus's sac? That an octopus is able to squeeze through a hole or container the size of its eye? That they are able to change the colour and texture of their skin cells in a second? That the appendages of the octopus is called arms not tentacles? They are not just the scary and fierce animals that are found in legends and myths, ripping boats apart in the middle of the sea.

Octopus, an Intelligent Invertebrate?
Having the largest central nervous system - mostly in the brain - among the others invertebrate and rivaling among many vertebrates. Scientist had trained captive octopuses to negotiate their way through simple mazes and distinguish squares from crosses. However, there are some doubts that a bigger brain means greater intelligence.

Strong Characteristic and Defences.
Octopus uses their suckers, each one individually controlled, to rip prey apart and anchor itself to a rocky surface. There is also a powerful beak capable of breaking a crab's shell among their soft and boneless body. Octopus's salivary glands even contains chemicals that enable the octopus to disable the prey and break down its muscles. The appendages of the octopus are also able to grow back in any case where one is lost to its predator.
Octopuses often come on land to search for its prey. However, on octopus's blood is a poor carrier of oxygen. Therefore, all octopus has THREE HEARTS and permanently high blood pressure to enable them to stay on land for up to one and a half hour.

The Sacrifice.
Female octopuses usually mates when they are immature. When they are matured and ready to lay the eggs, the female octopuses will fend off the male octopuses. The eggs are laid in shallow water and the total number of eggs laid by a females varies from 100'000 to 500'000. The female octopuses will take care of the eggs (egg care includes cleaning the eggs and directing the jets of water from the funnel through the strings.) The female octopuses usually doesn't eat and leaves her eggs during this period. However, the female octopus dies shortly after the last embryos as she would only be two-third of her weight before she laid her eggs.

Poisonous Octopus.
The most poisonous octopus is the "Blue-ringed octopus." it is the size of a golf ball and only about 20cm including its tentacles. Its poison is enough to kill an adult in minutes. There is no known antidote yet.The octopus would appear cute and lovely but do not pick it up 'cause you will not be able to see the rings until it is too late!!

The octopus is also a delicacy in other countries like Japan and Korea. The tentacles of the octopus will be eaten will it is still moving. And if you don't chew it well enough before you swallow, it will get stucked on you esophagus. You might even choke on it!!

The average live span of an octopus is about 1 to 3 years. Octopus are very sensitive animals. Their lives will be greatly affected by the pollution in the sea. Though a female octopus lays many eggs at one time, many of the baby octopuses becomes the food of other marine animals. Fortunately their are no studies showing that the octopuses are facing the problem of extinction.

Yea!! the second post... lol.
today a rather long day. (i'm not planning to use five words from the 1'100 words.) This is just plainly a journal. Okay... lets see, we shall start with PE.
We measured height and weight during PE today. haha.I am 162.5!!! short! OMG! I'm so short... anyway, it was free period after that. Oh, and a new timetable came out today. :)
Blah Blah. After school, Lynette, Ting Xin and I went to the band room. i had to paste something. It was really messy and noisy. Very unorganised and it just feels irritating. haix. Then we left school at around 1559. Still feeling pissed though...
OH! need to write the article. Just remembered.
got to go.... BYE!! XD

School had reopened. 2 Justice 07 is no longer together but our class spirits remained. In my opinion, my new class is too quiet. Not that it is a bad thing, really. However, there are just some people that does not like my personality or rather, does not have a good impression of me. I am just being myself and i would not change under any circumstances.
I would be greatful if you would just tell me that you don't like me. And i would really really appreciate that. i don't really remember making much noisy in class. By class, i mean lesson time. Please tell me if i am really making a lot of noise.

Journal 1 [Term 1. Week 2]

It was our school's CCA day. Our band had groups of people walking around giving out flyers. Lynette and I were trying to get people to take our flyers and get them to join band. Our attempts seem fruitless. The Sec 1s seemed like they were avoiding us. They were not at all zealous to join band. To make things worse, it started raining. Many of our plan was obviate due to the rain. We had no choice but to wait under shelter.
Luckily, the rain soon became a drizzle and stop. We coerce into going to give out the flyers with less enthusiasm. Most of the Sec 1s had their hands inundated with flyers of different CCAs and that was their excuse for not taking ours. However, we remained anguine.
We were glad when our leaders announced that the CCA day is over and that we are alllowed to go. I hope that it would be a interesting time when the Sec 1s come for the auditions.
